Crime writer Martin Edwards is crime fiction royalty and you get the chance to meet and chat with him in our Meet The Crime Writer get together on Zoom.
Martin was awarded the Diamond Dagger in 2020 by the Crime Writers Association for his writing career. Not only that but he is the current president of The Detection Club, a post previously held by the likes of GK Chesterton, Dorothy L Sayers and Agatha Christie.
Ann Cleeves, the author of such series as Vera and Shetland, said of him: “Martin knows more about crime fiction than anyone else working in the field today.”
He has had an interest in crime fiction since the age of 8 and wanted to be a crime writer ever since.
Martin has written series of books such as The Lake District cold case mysteries and the Harry Devlin Liverpool mysteries and now has a new series reminiscent of the golden age of crime fiction starting with Gallows Court and followed by Mortmain Hall. Both of which are wonderful and this reader couldn’t put them down.
We have him for an hour as part of our virtual murder mystery weekend, A First Class Murder, set on the Titanic, but we open up this one session to more crime fiction readers to join us on Saturday May 15th from 4pm to 5pm to hear from Martin and to ask him any burning questions.
This is a rare chance to have your questions answered by a master of crime fiction. Tickets are £5 and everything takes place on Zoom so you can join us wherever you are.
